A publication of the American Medical Association, the Archives of Neurology Web site features access to selected full-text articles. Access abstracts and table of contents are featured on the site; however, access to other full-text articles is provided to registered AMA members and users can also view on a pay-per-view basis.

Dementia, The International Journal of Social Research and Practice is a U.K.-based publication that focuses on the social experience of dementia and publishes papers from the fields of public health, social policy, social work and sociology. The journal's table of contents can be viewed online, along with abstracts. However, only registered subscribers can access full-text articles.

This Web site is devoted to the Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders Journal, with a focus on Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, Huntington's chorea and other neurodegenerative diseases. The journal offers free access to abstracts; however, readers must be registered or use a pay-per-view option to view full-text articles.

The Journal of Alzheimer's Disease offers a comprehensive Web site that allows users to search current and past issues for topics and tables of contents and to read abstracts. However, users must register through the publication's service, IOS Press, to receive access to PDF full-text articles.

 

Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) www.jama.com

JAMA's Web page opens to the current issue's table of contents, as well as full-text access to selected original research articles. Other than these selected highlights, the site only offers full-text article access to AMA members and paid subscribers. Scroll down the front page to read about JAMATheme Issues and other JAMA announcements or events. JAMA, as well as other AMA journals, can be searched from this site using keyword, phrase, author or department index. The JAMA Web site also features more information on the journal, including subscription information and document delivery information, and an online registration area.

 

The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry http://www.psychiatrist.com/

The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry Web site offers tables of contents, complete abstracts and select full-text articles to all registered Net Society Gold users (registration is free). It also offers PDF access to full articles to paying registered subscribers. In addition to materials from the journal, the site also offers online versions of various other informational products. CME credit is available for free or for a nominal price. The site provides links and information about subscribing and information for authors.

The Journal of Dementia Care is a multidisciplinary, bi-monthly journal aimed at all professionals working with people with dementia. It offers a search function for past articles' topics, but does not offer full-text information. Users can access information on subscriptions online.

The official journal of the European Neurological Society, Journal of Neurology, offers online abstracts of articles, but users need to be registered to access full-text PDF articles.

 

The Lancet www.thelancet.com

This British-based medical journal offers original peer-reviewed research articles, as well as news and other articles of interest for general medicine. Its Web site requires users to register for access to abstracts and full-text articles. The Web site also features online discussion groups for physicians.

 

New England Journal of Medicine http://www.nejm.org/

The New England Journal of Medicine's Web site allows subscribers full-text access to present and past articles, which include original research articles. All users can read article abstracts. Issues are archived to 1993. This weekly publication posts its current issue online each Wednesday at 5 PM EST. From the main page, users can access the current issue or search past issues by topic, title, author, issue number, page number or date. Also from the main page, users can sign up to receive the table of contents via e-mail, search MEDLINE, access subscription information, read CME information and classifieds, and more.

 

Neurology http://www.neurology.org/

The Web site for the official journal of the American Academy of Neurology, Neurology, offers CME, a search function and access to abstracts. Users need to be registered to access full-text articles.

 

Neuropsychology http://www.apa.org/journals/neu.html

From the American Psychological Association, Neuropsychology's online Web presence offers PDF access to selected articles and abstracts to the full table of contents. Users can also access more information about the quarterly publication including manuscript submission information, pricing and subscriptions, and abstracting and indexing coverage.

Prevention and Treatment is a peer-reviewed electronic journal from the American Psychological Association. Full-text articles are available online.

 

Psychiatric Times http://www.psychiatrictimes.com/
